Basic Common Sense

cadd [Edit] [Delete] 03:35, 17 September '06

Went to a gig in Edinburgh today/tonight and got the midnight bus back to Glasgow. Really thick fog on the M8, very poor visibilty. Some guy sitting at the front decided to strike up a conversation with the driver. He's been working for BA for tenyears as a steward, based himself in Glasgow for eight years but has been back in Motherwell for the last two, flew in from Japan this morning, is flying into JFK airport then Boston next week, doesn't adjust his watch to beat jetlag blahdeblah. We're driving in treacherous conditions and the driver is turning round regularly to face him to tell him about how he flew back from America and had to drive to Liverpool for a shift. I lasted twenty minutes and went down the front and pointed out that while they're sitting gabbing away we're driving in zero visibility fog. This shut them up.

Was this an over-reaction or should I have kicked the BA guy out of the moving vehicle and told the driver to keep his eyes on the road ?
