today when i was wandering back from the cinema, thinking that paving slabs should be made the right size for you not to have to take REALLY big steps to avoid the cracks, i was stopped by a Lollipop Man on a road near my house.
I've never seen a lollipop man there before, and the road has about two cars coming along it every day. We used to have a lollipop lady to police the small children as they came out from school, and she'd yell at us "KEEHP AAN THE PAVEMEENT!!" as we clamoured our way home.

Does anyone know anyone who is/has been a lollipop person? How are they deployed about the city? Do they actually have any point or are the council just humoring them (and is this why they are all about 90)?
