Me and a few friends have started using upcoming.org to add various london events and share them with each other, and it seems to work well for us.

I know there is already events functionality on dis and this isn't trying to compete. There are reasons for selective gig listings and reasons for comprehensive ones. On upcoming.org you can add your own events of whatever type you want, thought you might be interested.
