Lunch With Prole: Why Don't that many pubs have 'jukeboxes' anymore

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 13:31, 17 August '06

Oh so I go into a pub and they just know what sort of music their clientele would like to hear then? - ah, I see the barman has a ring in his lip or a stud in his chin and likes us to hear the 'Chillis' - all post BloodSugarSexMagick of course - all night at JUST the right level that makes you talk until your throat is ravaged like child's leg after it teased a bullgog just that bit too long, (and you think you might have cancer on some of your nodal thingys), the music only being turned down so they can 'have your glasses guys, PLEASE' and precisely o.1 minutes after 11.07.....I know a lot of pubs still have jukeboxes in all shapes and forms but my main point is about the 'control' behind the bar makes for a less instinctive buzz as everyone tries to second guess who put on what and the
"when will that Terris record I put on come on?" scenario. I note also with pubs run by aussies that DO have jukeboxes they basically cut the power and vapourise anything to do with music bang on 11 like no-one wants to hear music once the bell has gone. Cunts.
