There's a lot of crap been written about this record being tuneless or difficult. But I've been listening to it loads and it's a really intense and moving piece of pop music. Sure it's icy and inhuman in parts and the vocals are sometimes secondary to other parts of the music but all the songs have a heart beating inside (no pun intended). I think her voice is amazing and even when it's filtered through god knows what effect she still soudns really haunting. Plus the lyrics are really evocative and dark. Probably in my top 3 albums this year so far along with Calexico and Germlin.
