Music Social More…

broadening my horizons

nice_squirrel [Edit] [Delete] 13:23, 23 February '06

I like to think I listen to a broad range of music. However, while listening to my iPod on shuffle this morning, I realised I've got a lot of gorgeous music on there at the moment, but that it's all essentially the same - gravelly voices, country-tinged, sweeping strings, beautiful harmonies, multi-instrumentalists, broken hearts etc. It's all The National, Broken Social Scene, Cat Power, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Nick Cave, Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Belle and Sebastian etc.

While this pretty much sums up all my favourite things in music, I think I need to get a bit of variation in my purchases. I need a bit more fun and dancing. Can you recommend me some stuff please? I've been excited by Ninja High School, Les Incompetents and Hot Chip tracks recently, so I'd like more suggestions of things that are dancy or hip-hoppy or electronicy and generally more FUN.
