Pop stars you assumed were dead but it turns out they weren't after all

thommo [Edit] [Delete] 17:27, 14 February '06

Yes, yes i know i spent many years thinking that Syd Barratt was dead, an assumption made after all the tortured genius imagery that the rock mag heavyweights gave him (although obviously without reading the articles too deeply), and an asumption only put right after somebody mentioned it circa Live 8.

i was also shocked to hear that Sly Stone appeared at his Grammy tribute the other week, not because of the many years he's spent without performing but because...well, i thought he was dead.

There's a few people who in the past i've wondered whether they're still about (as in actually breathing). The only one i can think of at the moment is Prince Buster...i assumed he's kicked it, but didn't he perform with Mint Royale a few years ago after they sampled him? Or did i dream that?
