If you can't be bothered to read that - which would be understandable - let me sum it up. Many conversations over the past few weeks have concerned Christmas songs, and many of them have descended into arguments. I've spoken to so many people who seem to believe that there haven't been any decent Christmas songs in years, and I couldn't disagree more.

I made a list of 10 great Christmas songs that were released in the 21st century. I limited myself to 10, but I know that my list is by no means exhaustive.

So. What did I miss? Bear in mind that I'm not just referring to "alternative" Christmas songs - Billy Mack, Bob Dylan and Coldplay made the cut, and George Michael made the shortlist - so anything goes. Have any other really good Christmas songs been released in the past 14 years?
