Bad albums you thought were good at the time

tatesmithee [Edit] [Delete] 17:58, 28 June '14

Did you ever (most likely as a youngster) become so enamoured by a well established band and their Greatest Hits / most acclaimed album(s) and then become subsequently duped into buying their then-upcoming new album and due to naivety, thought it was up there with their best work (maybe that you were experiencing an event of a classic album released in your wake), later to realise it was a bit shit?

This could have been worded better, but my personal experience was buying R.E.M.'s Around the Sun following a year's fascination with In Time: The Best of R.E.M.
