Introducing Some Ember's s/t debut, if you are looking for some haunting and atmospheric electro-pop.

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 13:47, 24 May '14

To be honest I've been a bit of an admirer of this band for about a year of so after hearing their previous two records, 'Asleep in the Ice Palace' and 'Hotel of Lost Light'. They really are something a bit special and I listen to a lot of synth-pop and electronic music. They should have more exposure. One of the best things about their music is the vocals - Dylan's and Nina's vocals are never anything less that affecting.

Anyway, this is their first 'real' LP in a way and it's beautiful and emotive and gothic. Give it a go if you like your electronic pop to have a darker edge (Cabaret Voltaire for example, though they certainly don't sound like them!).

With this, Lust for Youth's excellent album 'International', and the promise of more to come in Xeno & Oaklander's 'Par Avion' and White Hex's 'Gold Nights', June is looking like a good month.
