Have had my head out of the game and would love to hear about what I've been missing. Some tracks/singles I've liked:

Sun Kil Moon - Carissa
About as good as this kind of thing gets.
Cheatahs - The Swan
Don't care if it's derivative. It's huge, shoegaze, pop fun.
War on Drugs - Red Eyes.
Would love to hear suggestions of sit-up-and-take-notice singles of 2014 that are as good as this. (I realise this single was released in 2013...)
Hold Steady - Teeth Dreams
Nice refresh of their sound, with a bit more bite than recent offerings (even if it does tower over the rest of the album)
Future Islands - Seasons
Fun.
