Lust for Youth's new LP, International, is a good electronic pop album.

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 18:05, 18 May '14

I've been looking forward to this and it doesn't disappoint.

They've certainly made a more accessible and dance orientated record this time and I'm all for that. There's a bit of 'Human League', 'Depeche Mode' and 'New Order' here.

Only heard it all the way through twice but seeing as I already liked 'Epoetin Alfa' and Illume', I was already well into this.

Of the new tracks, 'New Boy' and 'Armida' will have to be played at a very high volume in the car - excellent tunes. 'Lungomore' is chilled and perhaps something Jonny Jewel might stick on the next 'Symmetry' album. Saying that I can easily picture Ryan Gosling staring out over a steering wheel into a twilight cityscape, while 'International' plays. 'After Touch' sways along to a dreamy waltz, and at times sounds like Morrisey could do vocals. 'Basorexia' and 'Running' are sort of 'Technique-era' material - all hazy sun basked Ibiza rhythms.

It's a solid little LP.

I hope it gets good reviews when it comes out next month.
