When I think about it, I can't think of anyone stereotypically 'nice' or smiley-faced writing decent music. Chris Martin and James Blunt are nice, friendly people who have written some awfully bland music. John Lydon, Liam Gallagher, Thom Yorke, Morrissey and Nicky Wire are all cool/moody/unfriendly/rude/fucked-up individuals who've been responsible for some fantastic music. Personally I do like those people, but lots of people don't seem to.
