But if there had to be music I'd settle for Brian Eno, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works (parts I and II, but preferably II).

Basically music that you can listen to during lulls in conversation and when waiting at the bar/having a piss (yes, speakers in the loo). But also music that doesn't intrude upon conversation in any way, maybe even subliminally enhances it.

Pub DJs can fuck off too.
