Elbow, Take Off and Landing of Everything

oldshitnewshit [Edit] [Delete] 19:56, 6 March '14

it feels to me like an improvement on Build a Rocket Boys!, which lacked a little coherence (and had, in 'Open Arms', a overly desperate/mawkish attempt to replicate the success of 'One Day Like This'). The cover of the new album hints at their debut, and aspects of the sound and subject matter do also. Interestingly, five of the ten tracks also top six minutes, which is either brave or self-indulgent, or both. All in all, it feels to me (about five listens in) like a better-than-average elbow album. any thoughts?
