I'm doing some research into festival pricing and was wondering on your take about how much is too much for a programme? Obviously some festivals offer full line-ups online for free but most these days use a lanyard or booklet as a way of squeezing an extra tenner out of punters - is this fair?

Am comparing American events to UK and Europe fests too but most bigger American festivals seem to give theirs away for free - why do we do things differently here? Another part of my research is the official merchandise, which is far, far cheaper (and mostly nicer) in the US, any thoughts?
