It's been coming. I started to be intrigued by black metal last year (leading to a poorly worded thread title)and decided Deafheaven and Stara Rzeka made two of the best albums from 2013. I think ambient is at its best when Hecker or Ben Frost go feral and post rock only works when it's angry.

A bit of funk, soul, base and melody have been my lifeblood so far, but now I want power. But more the environmental/industrial kind, so not cock rock machismo.

Basically I want the best gateway albums to your favourite heavy genres, and Ill be very happy.
