Being involved in Independent Venue Week (details: http://drownedinsound.com/news/4147223-new-for-2014--independent-venue-week ) has had me on a bit of a memory trip back to some of the early gigs I went to at the Joiners, where DiS will be curating a bill as part of the series of events. Weirdly I've got a band called Stumble stuck in my head after thinking about it. They were never a particularly big band but they had that fast-paced, pop-canons a-blazing not-quite-punk 'thing' that Ash had, and it was magnificent to watch. My frustration at seeing how little time most people had for this band is one of the reasons why I started DiS.
