Revisiting great albums from 2013: #1 John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts

wonton [Edit] [Delete] 18:23, 22 November '13

I thought this was great on my first few listens; full of depth with a snazzy sound that suited Grant brilliantly. But then something happened...and a few snippets of words (e.g. "If I think about it, I am successful as it were") came across as really quite bitter....and so it slowly dropped off my rotation.

Basically, I missed the joke completely and I'm annoyed I doubted John at all. Such an amazing record, can't help but feel it'd be better appreciated in a different era.

Favourite track is probably... It Doesn't Matter to Him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvM3D4XE9qM
