Olafur Arnalds - For I am Winter

static [Edit] [Delete] 23:01, 12 November '13

I don't think I've seen a single comment about this album since it's release way back in the early months of the year (bar the site review). Wasn't sure if people were alienated by the vocal or whether it gave a new crowd access to an album they wouldn't otherwise be interested in. For my money, I have an opposite stance to the site review in that its the vocal tracks that I found it hard to connect with (it's not the notion of modern classical and vocal i think that can be done brilliantly) i personally just find Arnor Dan's vocal a little bit saccharine at least with this backdrop. In fairness though I have persisted and sometime i like the vocal tracks sometimes i don't, (I definitely warmed to Reclaim in particular) and 8 out of 13 tracks are instrumental anyway. The likes of Brim and This Place was a Shelter are excellent and I'd have to give it between a 7.5 and an 8.2.

was wandering if any one else had an opinion?
