Any idea why 2013 has been the year that so many bands have ended decades long hiatuses and released new stuff?

MrScagdenSir [Edit] [Delete] 11:20, 1 October '13

So this year has seen the release of new stuff by:
My Bloody Valentine
Mazzy Star
Sebadoh

Basically all the bands that I listened to in the 90s. THere have also been hiatus-breakers from about 8 years from:
Circle Takes the Square
Boards of Canada

and lots more.

So: why is 2013 so special? Is there some 90s indie fan with a well-rubbed lantern sat there somewhere with a huge smile on his/her face?

What do we think about this trend for ancient bands coming back to haunt us with new stuff?

Which 90s band who hasn't yet released new stuff this year would you be most excited to see do so?
