Album of the Month: TRAVIS Where You Stand - I like the Julianna Barwick album and the new Neko Case records, but blimey, when Travis return to form, they still have something special that means even the wettest of bedwedder snobs should hold them in the same regard as The Shins or The National or any number of bands that it's ok to like, because they're popular but American. http://drownedinsound.com/releases/17792/reviews/4146734

Song of the Month: KATY PERRY 'Roar' - it's the perfect inversion of emo gone pop when pop goes a teeny bit emo. A genuine and genuinely gigantic anthem. Welcome back lady who wrote the greatest pop song of the past few decades ('Firework', obviously!)
