Any fans on here? I saw him a couple of times, most recently around 3 or 4 years ago at the Sheffield Boardwalk. He was wheeled on, supplied with too many JD refills and played some songs twice. It was still a great gig though.

Little bit disappointed about the lack of obits in the broadsheets, unless I've missed them. He was one of the last genuine old Mississippi bluesmen who was still recently signed to a reasonably big label (Fat Possum), even if he did only learn the guitar in his late 50s.

One of the strangest records I own is a 10" ep from the phase, around 10 years ago, when Fat Possum started remixing all their bluesmen (see also the 'blues-hop duet' between RL Burnside and Kid Rock). Very strange indeed to hear T-Model over a cheap, tinny breakbeat.

Anyway - any T-Model memories? Or links to DIS posts from when he actually passed away a couple of days ago, that i obviously missed?
