Distophia are reforming!

dan_thw [Edit] [Delete] 02:44, 20 June '13

This probably won't mean naff all to a lot of people but it really should...

Went to see the excellent Birmingham band Calories this evening, and singer Pete announced that his and John's and Tom's old band Distophia are reforming for a show in Birmingham in November to mark the 10th anniversary of the release of their debut mini album Soda Lake.

For anyone who doesn't remember Distophia, they are probably one of the biggest oversights in terms of British alt-rock bands in the 00's. They released Soda Lake which was an absolute beast of a mini album, then due to some sort of industry wrangling (don't know the full details) their debut full length - which is totally brilliant - Beat Dyslexia - never got a proper release and they split up shortly after.

Seemed to suggest from the speech on stage tonight that promoters should try and book them for some shows in November to coincide with the Birmingham show. Get on it!
