Doesn't happen often for me. I almost always give the back catalogue a go, even if I end up deciding that I like that later album better no matter how much people rate the earlier ones higher (e.g. LCD Soundsystem).

Thinking about today, though, I realised that despite loving Good News... I never bothered digging into Modest Mouse's back catalogue. Maybe because I suspect it won't be anywhere near as light and melodic....
