Albums that you didn't really like at first but now adore

Re: people being a bit down on Daft Punk and The National on first listen. Let's remind people that opinion change. Anecdotes and memories of how you first felt welcomed.

For me I remember feeling really strange when I heard Pinkerton for the first time. I didn't think my stereo was set up properly and thought maybe there was a problem with the cassette. The production was just so different to all the glossy rock and skate-punk I was into at the time. I soon got used to it and now think it's one of most amazingly ornate albums I've ever heads. May be my favourite album.
