there is so much great music. realistically, you've got to be listening to at least one record you've never heard before EACH DAY, probably more, if you want to hear all the good music.

Closer Musik - After Love

Matias Aguayo and... another Kompakt dude, sexy microhouse from 2008. one, like most of these will be, that I've been meaning to check out for a while.

starts out pretty min-i-mal, but with a distinctively sensuous touch to the glitchy, spare microhouse beat. that (other) intersection of South American and German. Aguayo delivering the slinkiness on the vocal in the negative space between the spacey percolations.

we move on through moody airport-concourse-at-night vibes ('Departures') into a more urgent place full of ticking, jabbing percussion and fizzy synthetic textures ('Last'). v. invigorating and punchy, like some cyborg agents just chased you through the whole (future) air (space) port.

we have an eerie lull, in which Aguayo perhaps hides out with a female replicant in her high-rise flat w/ future cops gliding past outside in antigrav hovercars. then some robots making sounds on a space station whilst a radar bleeps.

'You Don't Know Me' brings us to strafing lights across a shadowy dancefloor or maybe a murky cityscape. Aguayo working out some inner torment whilst a fat, squiggly synth worms its way into your circuitry. and to close, a dark and forboding minimal banger.
