I always feel like a fairweather five-albums-a-year Tesco dad listening to Best Of albums - but what bands have back catalogues that aren't worth plundering?

For example, I have a big soft spot for Hall & Oates, but can't imagine I'm missing much beyond the hits compilation - then again, I was massively rewarded for getting into XTC via the Fossil Fuel collection. Thoughts?
