Should an album review, or its rating, consider things outside the album itself?

Jordan_229_2 [Edit] [Delete] 11:29, 19 March '13

i've just been sent the Port St Willow album to review and it got me thinking.

so the album was released about six months ago and has been available to stream for free on his bandcamp since. now a label in the UK is putting it out on 'digital outlets' in the UK. which just seems really weird. as i'm reviewing this specific release should it take this into account, or just remain a review of the album?

its interesting isn't it? (no)
