Mainstream rock/indie music is going to run itself into the ground this autumn.

I've just had a look at some of the upcoming releases for the next couple of months. Loads of major indie/rock bands are releasing a new album within a short space of time. None of the 15 year olds that would normally be the target audience will have enough pocket money to buy everything that they want, and half the bloody internet providers have started to block torrent sites.

Take a look at this for ridiculousness:

August 27th
Bloc Party - Four

Septmber 3rd
The Vaccines - Come Of Age
Two Door Cinema Club - Beacon
Animal Collective - Centipede Hz

September 10th
The xx - Coexist
Lower Than Atlantis - Changing Tune

September 17th
Muse - The 2nd Law
The Killers - Battle Born
Band Of Horses - Mirage Rock

September 24th
Green Day - Uno
Mumford & Sons - Babel

I think i've missed a few.

Yeah I know not much of this is DiS friendly, but it's still a little odd considering most labels generally try to stagger releases so they can get maximum profit. Particularly the Muse/Killers clash, and the Mumfords/Green Day clash, given that these all cater to essentially the same fanbase.
