So, Beastie Boys...

Sorry, doesn't appear to be a thread? Odd things, Beasties turned up in a book I was reading about Sonic Youth, mentioned them when they were a young hardcore band, then Luscious Jackson just announced they were reforming (their drummer was the Beasties drummer for the above), and then friday's sad news bringing it full circle. With an iTunes "tribute" page... :/

Firstly, Pauls Boutique, in my opinion one of the most perfectly complete albums there is? Their rapping, dust brothers' production, marriage made in heaven - THEN the Beasties have the audacity to pick back up their instruments in order to make the sort of music they'd sample for Check Your Head, and succeeding! What a coup! (I didn't see all of their set at Reading 92 as they played in monsoon conditions, but what I did see was nice), from there they turned into a big deal. And quite right so.

I didn't check out the last records much but perhaps they require a look at, I'm sure that even a less than erfect Beasties record is nothing less than entertaining? Thoughts?

Highlights:
No Sleep Til Brooklyn
Sound of Science
Heart Attack Man
