Bands/artists who are booked to play venues far too big for their level of (current) appeal...thread

kmart [Edit] [Delete] 09:14, 3 April '12

...inspired by the Cult / Mission / Killing Joke triple-header tour later this year at arenas across the UK. Standing tickets are still on sale for all the venues, which is a definite sign that they won't fill the arenas. Or maybe all their fans are too old to stand up, and they will just buy the seats? Think they've been over-optimistic about the potential ticket sales...

I remember Richard Ashcroft getting downgraded from Wembley Arena to Hammersmith Apollo because of poor ticket sales. Didn't Tatu sell about 8 tickets for their Wembley show before it got cancelled? And Catatonia booked for Docklands Arena... that would never have worked if it had gone ahead.
