Has anyone heard 'TRST' by Trust? It's a very decent dark electro-stomper - I recommend it.

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 22:04, 21 February '12

Ever wondered what it would sound like if the goths decided to give the Whitby weekend a miss and head out to Ibiza and set up their own little club on the dark side of the island?

Well wonder no more, your prayers have been answered - especially if you're drawn towards some type of goth disco.

Trust are signed to 'Arts & Crafts' (an LP who have some promising artists signed attached I see)and they've produced a great little album of dark and moody floor fillers with elements of EBM, techno, cold wave and synth-pop thrown in with relish.

The real asset is the vocal though. They're just excellent. At times he sounds like he's signing from a crypt; resembling a perhaps a more baritone Vincent Price.

The opening track called 'Shoom' really sells the rest of the album for me to be honest. Here it is:

But the other singles so far released form the album are are all good:

'Bublform'

'Candy Walls'

and 'Sulk'

If I have one issue with it it's that it can sound a bit one note after a while and that's a shame because some of the b-sides like 'Trinity' sound very different and would have made the album a bit more varied.

Nevertheless I liked it when I first heard it and it's grown on me since then quite a lot. I have it on pre-order from Amazon anyway.

A strong 7.5 for me. I hope DiS reviews it when it comes out next week.
