This is a bit of a blatant comparison, for which I am sorry, but I am referring more to the album's reception as opposed to its contents. So I mean it is largely irrelelvant that Sufjan adopted more electronic music elements, because the real point here is how at first it was divisive but now (especially after the spellbinding live performances last year) most people I speak to believe it to be a fantastic record.
