Disastrous Gigs

DFYOU [Edit] [Delete] 15:57, 6 October '11

Ever been present at a gig that went wrong? I've just re-watched the Amy Winehouse in Belgrade debacle which got me to thinking.

I think my own gig-going record is pretty incident free - I've seen a few shocking bands, or good bands on an off night, but nothing that sticks out in my memory where something went very wrong. The nearest I can get is going to see Stellastarr* (LOL) a good few years ago. They were supported by a new and then-unknown band by the name of the Killers, who completely upstaged them. They came on and put on a particularly shoddy performance, and then their bass amp blew up. Cue pained "banter" from the embarrased looking frontman, as the guitarist fiddled with wiring round the back and the bassist just stood there awkwardly. FOR AGES.

I'm sure you have a better story...
