Music Social More…

Bands who we keep saying have made a 'return to form', but who in hindsight haven't really...

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 17:19, 26 July '11

1. REM. I quite like the new REM record but I remember the same thing being said about this and Accelerate. Neither are a patch on former glories or even more than 6.5/10 records really, are they?

2. Trail of Dead. Every year or two I buy their new album on account of it being the new 'Source tags and codes' (which is worse than 'Madonna' anyhow). Each year I find it isn't.

3. Flaming Lips. Not been good since about 1997. Which is handy, because that's about the same time they changed their live show too.

4. SFA. Now I really love this band, but people always say this about them too. The thing is, I don't think they ever stopped being great, we just kinda got used to them. The last 2 albums were really good I thought.

Others?

Sonic youth? (I really liked Sonic Nurse and Rather ripped)
Yo La tengo? (last 2 albums were a bit patchy)
Mogwai? (recent is decent, before that they had 3 relative 6/10s)

SOMETHING ABOUT WEEZER.
