So here at the website drownedinsound.com, of which I am the reviews editor, we're always notionally on the lookout for new writers, but last time that I put up a request for new blood about 100 people got in touch and I sort of freaked out, though we did get many fine writers out of the deal. and if you're interested in contributing to the site - initially in an albums review capacity, but really, you can do whatever before too long - then please get in contact via it and I'll have a look over the emails every now and again.

Ideally you'll be able to send some links to previously published stuff (be it a student newspaper, a blog, or perhaps you are a professional journalist who feels spiritually empty and has come to us for redemption) and then I'll look at it and then if it's okay I shall set you up with a test review and if that's okay it'll all go on from there and be wonderful.

We don't pay, but lots of people read the articles, lots of DiS writers have gone on to Quite Big Things, and there are freebies to various foreign festivals and whatnot always doing the rounds. There is no house style, and self indulgence is generally approved of.

Anyway, I'm notionally putting this up as a permanent 'how to write for DiS' thingy for general reference, but if we get swamped with applications I'll take it down out of laziness, and if nobody gets in touch I shall discreetly remove it out of shame.
