the americanisation of uk bass

furryfan [Edit] [Delete] 13:33, 1 November '10

a lot of american r 'n' b voices were used in garage, but i think of those voices as generic, stock goods. now american beat structures seem to be used a lot too.

joker was the first i thought this about, 'do it' is so similar to dj khaled's 'we takin over' from a couple of years before. it ain't a secret the juke influence has been big this year. girl unit 'wut' is maybe the best example i can think of americanisation with it's drama-synths and stutter-beat.

i like a lot of this stuff and there's still a lot of nice rollers being made. doesn't seem to be much 2-step about, although falty dl's doing it good over there.

thoughts on these trends?
