Ethical music

PossiblyMaybe [Edit] [Delete] 18:49, 10 August '10

I'm writing a few short pieces for a student guide to living ethically/sustainably in Bristol, and one topic is music, so I was wondering if you knew of any good articles/sites covering this topic or if you knew anything yourselves. This is the sort of stuff I'm writing about:

-Buying music from an independent record shop as more tends to go to the artist and boosting the local economy/buying music online to reduce waste/packaging/transport needs.
-Biggish venues such as STB, Mr Wolfs, The Croft which support local bands... where else? Louisiana, the Fleece?
-Festivals - some have corporate sponsors whereas others are locally run (again the local economy) and give profits to charity and supply a lot of local food.
-Bristol ticket shop vs seetickets (same arguments as above, plus money saving)

I don't particularly want to drag the ethics of unpaid for music into this, trying not to be preachy. Have I missed anything?

Thanks x
