Choosing what to buy on vinyl

Furryboy [Edit] [Delete] 21:43, 28 February '10

Ok, so I've gotten a long awaited vinyl deck for my birthday. I'm now faced with the tough decision from now on of what do I buy on CD and what do I buy on LP.

So, I was wondering what the best approach to take is? I'm no expert but surely how the record was recorded makes a big difference to what sounds best? Or do people generally go for what looks better as a package or what is more collectible?

Or maybe it depends more on the type of music. I'd assume richer sounding records will show their depth and subtlety more on vinyl than cd no? I was thinking the new Joanna Newsom would sound great for a start.

I'm no DJ but I know there's a lot of more dance/electronic stuff I probably can't get on CD which would be great to delve into.

Where do I start???
