Pitchfork asshattery in Delphic review

stalecloud [Edit] [Delete] 21:37, 26 January '10

Say what you will about Delphic, but this turd of a text block nestled in the buttcheeks of this review is just idiotic:

"While 2009 was a golden year for U.S. indie, in the UK it was the moment the term 'landfill indie' went mainstream, denoting the domestic glut of torpid, timid, generically retrogressive guitar bands. The post-Strokes tide that kept British indie afloat through the 00s, from Franz Ferdinand to the Libertines to the Arctic Monkeys, has finally gone out, leaving a clueless generation of charmless groups high and dry."

Could just be the writer, but it seems to be a trend. Pitchfork reviews doomed-to-fail novelty UK act, pans it, uses it as a barometer for the entire scene. They've given a sturdy reacharound to a decent amount of UK groups (Esben and the Witch most recently), so where does the hate come from?
Yeah, I know, Pitchfork isn't the world. But their own form of cockery has become quite abrasive and old lately. It's like when M2 became MTV2 and starting showing MTV's sloppy second teen douche dramas.
