These Young Puritans' album 'Hidden' is impressing the hell out of me right now...

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 20:56, 16 January '10

...what say you?

I'd have to hold my hands up and sayI'd never heard of them nor 'Beat Pyramid' but this one caught my attention through an NME review of all things.

I have gone from being intrigued, to being interested, to enjoying it a bit while not being sure whether it's anything more than original, to finding it to be one of the most innovative and affecting albums I've heard for quite a bit now.

It really is a very atmospheric work - sounds like something M.I.A would put together if she teamed up with Howard Shore fresh from Lord of the Rings, and they both envisioned some sort of post-apocalypse. And then again, it sounds like much more than that.

This one is being critically lauded at the moment so I am fairly sure there'll be detractors. I wouldn't normally leap on the band wagon without reason but here I a find myself. A striking album.
