As a counter-argument to all the Pitchfork haters

i genuinely feel a great wave of relief when one of my favourite artists gets a great review there. i think they generally get it bang-on about 80% of the time, if not more. the standard of writing, speaking as some one who writes about music myself, is something i'd aspire to, and they're nowhere near as pretentious or scathing as people say they are. the new snow patrol album, for instance, you'd expect them to trash it, but the reviewer almost seemed to be looking for reasons to stick up for it. which is balance, which is good
