Question for people in moderately successful bands - how do you structure an hour-long set?

theguywithnousername [Edit] [Delete] 12:38, 11 February '09

Next week we're doing one for the first time. I'm used to doing thirty minute sets, and the occasion forty or forty-five but we've never done an hour long set before.

Clearly it has to be a bit different to keep it interesting as it exceeds the typical human concentration span.

I've got a few thoughts and ideas over what we'll do but I'd be interested to know what other people think about how best to do an hour-long gig and hold people's attention?

So people in bands who do this kind of thing - how do you structure your hour-long sets?

And people who watch bands, how do you think hour-long sets should be structured?

Does this question even make sense?
