What an genuinely excellent idea -

His widow Sheila said: "He would appreciate that in years to come Peel Day will give new bands across the country the chance to be heard."

OK - john peel played 80% music by unsolicited bands without agents/managers/pluggers - how are the organisers of this going to ensure that this happens again - we all know how the industry works these days - how are we going to make sure this doesn't happen when the day will feature already signed bands or bands in 'development' and of course 34 acoustic versions of Teenage Kicks - i can see he bands they will pick now..... - I say in true tribute we should do our own Peel Day 'tribute' - any takers?
