Don't believe the hype

MirriLondon [Edit] [Delete] 01:21, 18 March '07

'Best gig i've been to in 12 years'. This is what a good friend said, and this is what made badly want to get arcade fire tickets tonight after having to sell my Wednesday one due to a stinking cold.

All hype though. Yes, they're good. Yes, the crowd were VERY into it which was nice. But they're just not tight enough live. Despite reviews, the Neon Bible material was actually very good - one or two tracks much more so than Funeral I thought. I'm trying to put my finger exactly on what it is that made me not love it; I think because there are SO darned many of them, the good, pure loud sounds that you'd usually get from good guitars, bass, or a good drum spot, is just too dilated by the fuss of other instruments.

:( I was also disappointed with The Knife despite the hype surrounding their gig too.

<Sigh>. Perhaps it's just ME.
