i am so gay for this band. seriously, i would let them all have their way with me.

apart from the bassist, who was merely superb, every one of them an absolute virtuoso, a master of their art. john mclaughlin is quite possibly the most technically gifted guitarist ever. billy cobham is easily one of my favourite drummers. and we're not talking a talented jam band here, they played compositionally intricate music and mixed it with frantic improvisation. the first two albums are near faultless.
