This has probably been the subject of many a music messageboard thread in the past, but what IS that bloody line he sings?

It looks / sounds so much like he's singing "beat the enemy" at certain points, which would make sense in the context of the song, but then at other times, the "the" is definitely a "me" sound.

Does anyone know for sure what it is? Is there any official proof anywhere?
