Pretty amazing really. I avoided Van Morrison up to this point basically because of Brown Eyed Girl but this is incredible. It's very sad but also redemptive. I love the instrumentation. It's very conventional in places but also slightly chaotic and disconnected. Like a mixture of Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen but with an element of hope. And pop I suppose.

I'm almost reluctant to hear anything else by him because (based on what I've read) it won't be as good.
