This is ace. I liked 'Beyond Reinforced Jewel Case' quite alot, but after I saw him live last year it really clicked with me.

This record, however, is so so much better. The songs are alot more fleshed out musically. Recorded with a proper band all the songs have jazzy drums, bass & piano. And Brendan even sings properly... some of the time. The lyrics are even more awesome, less half-conversations about people we don't know, more self-aware motivational talks. 'The Songs is the Single' is so poppy, fun and hilarious.

Best of all is 'Half of Two Times Two' its got a really beautiful uplifting piano melody and some of his best lyrics. You can get it here:
